We sat down with our show partner, Beau Warren from Tee See Tee. We talk about him, his company, where his nerd homebase, and some other fun topics.
We have the questions, he has the answers. Lets get to know Beau!
What is Tee See Tees ?
Tee See Tee is, in my unbiased opinion, the GREATEST T-SHIRT COMPANY EVER! But seriously, it is my apparel design and printing studio, where I consider myself the Willy Wonka of nerdy apparel! We are about to celebrate our tenth year in business, which is surreal to me, and this year, we expanded our web to cover Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, and Oregon!
Whats your most popular product?
This year it is Department of Sasquatch Research, which we do for Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and now Oregon. Cryptids are huge, so we have really put more emphasis on Bigfoot, Mothman, and the Dogman this year.
Why did you get into the nerd merch business?
I spent years trying to be something I am not as a screenprinter/designer. I thought to be successful in this industry, you have to cater towards paddleboarders, skiers, hikers, and the like. When I finally decided to design based on who I am, not who I thought I was supposed to be, that is truly when Tee See Tee was born.
If it weren’t for nerd merch, what would you be doing?
Before this, I was designing toys, mainly stuffed animals, and I was REALLY good at it, arguably the best in the business. It was loads of fun, and I still see my designs being used over ten years later, so odds are I could jump back into that industry very easily!
What did you want to be when you grew up?
Zoologist. I did get to work at a zoo for the better part of my young adulthood, so I scratched that itch.
What is one ability that you believe everybody should possess?
The ability to laugh at yourself. Humility is a wonderful trait, and the world would be so much kinder, less competitive, and fun if we could all just not take ourselves so seriously.
Whats your favorite book to recommend to others?
The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F**k by Mark Manson. To say this book changed my life is the understatement of the century. It is mandatory reading for everyone.
What song can you never skip when it comes on the radio?
Africa by Toto. Soooo good.
You can like multiple fandoms, but where does your nerd flag fly?
Tough question! I waver between Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Lord of the Rings, but I am also a HUGE tiki and pirate nerd!
go buy some merch!
